Modeling of deformation and thermal processes that alter the structure and properties. Special interest in the influence of crystallographic texture on the anisotropic properties of polycrystalline, multiphase solids. Development of finite element methods for the analysis of the elastoplastic deformations of polycrystalline solids and for the representation of their structure and properties. Applications in processing (forming and joining) and design (fatigue). Personal Interests: Woodworking; flower photography; silversmithing; hiking and bicycling.
