Below are two examples of raw pole figure data plotted using the PlotSphere function. The data are taken from neutron diffraction experiments conducted at Chalk River, Ontario.

The pole figures shown above were used to generate harmonic coefficients, and the result is shown below. The ODF is displayed on the fundamental region for cubic symmetries using Rodrigues parameters. The image was generated using the PlotCubicFR function.

Various functions are available in the library for computing an ODF from pole figure data. The image below is an ODF calculated from the raw data above, after applying a smoothing convolution operator to it.
